Sangeeta & Joe were married this past memorial day weekend at the Chicago Botanic Gardens in Glencoe, IL. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for their tented reception in the McGinley Pavilion. We actually spent a lot of time trying to capture the perfect color palette for their wedding.
We wanted to give Sangeeta & Joe the bright vibrant color that they wanted while also creating something unique and beautiful. Bold colors can be tough to do right but when we landed on sherbet as the inspiration for our color palate we knew we had something special!
From the big fluffy bouquets to the lush head table filled with coral charm peonies, garden roses, stock, lisianthus, and roses, the entire tent just screamed summer! It certainly helped that we lucked out with some of the most robust and colorful coral charm peonies that we have ever seen! While overall the wedding was simple, I think these photos (by Emilia Jane Photography) just goes to show how impactful a stunning color palette can be. Enjoy!

A few weeks ago we gave you a behind-the-scenes tour of our new studio and today we’ll show you what we were working on and how perfectly it all came together at the Ritz Carlton Chicago for the 2015 Martha Stewart Bridal Show. The annual Martha Stewart Bridal Show pulls together some of the best wedding vendors that Chicago has to offer, and we were thrilled to be a small part of it, by providing the floral for Ashley of La Belle Fleur Events Booth. We collaborated with Ashley of La Belle Fleur Events to create a romantic, soft & fluffy blooms to fill her tablescape that Martha Stewart herself would certainly approve of!
Ashley of La Belle Fleur Events designed and dressed the table, which was covered in a deep navy linen, with white ceramic vases overflowing with pink astilbe, ranunculi, stock, garden roses, and rice flower. She added some mini topiaries to the table to provide that fresh, summer-in the Hamptons ambience. Lastly, the table was set with beautiful blue and white china from Halls, and each place setting held a custom-designed menu from Sarah Drake Design. The space was framed with a custom white trellis wall that acted as a soft, inviting backdrop.
Thanks to Ashley of La Belle Fleur Events for inviting … Read More »
This past winter we had the pleasure of working with Betty and Johnny on their wedding at Prairie Production. The blank white canvas that is Prairie Production allowed us to create a very bold and powerful statement with punches of pink and red. The white ceremony drapes were tied back with beautiful arrangements filled with pink and red roses, fuchsia stock, white snapdragon, and accents of dusty miller. The bride (dressed in the most stunning red dress you’ve ever seen) carried a lush bouquet consisting of an equally stunning floral palette with the addition of the most beautiful pink peonies and ranunculus. We lined the aisle with pink, white and fuchsia rose petals, and tied petite, yet striking, floral arrangements to the white chairs that lined the aisle. All of this tied perfectly together with the pink and white globe lanterns that were hung from the ceiling above.
All of this beauty was captured by one of our personal favorite photographers: Kina Wicks! Enjoy some of the beautiful shots below… Congratulations to Betty and Johnny and cheers to a lifetime of happiness!

A lot of people that we work with are often curious about where we produce all of our stunning events. Believe it or not, as of a year ago, we were producing everything out of my home in Lincoln Park. It took a lot of trips up and down the stairs on wedding day, and even more patience from my husband who had to deal with coming home to a house exploding with flowers, but we made it work… I’m sure one of these days, we’ll look back and reminisce about those days, but for now, we are super excited about our new workspace!
We moved into our new studio back in February, located near the intersection of Grand and Western. Conveniently located near many of the wholesale floral markets, and earshot from all of the beautiful downtown venues, this space is absolutely perfect for us. From the moment I walked in to view the space, I knew this was going to be our new home. The cute exposed brick, and the old tin ceilings, provide a quaint environment, perfect for meeting with clients as well as producing larger events in one big open space.

Inspired by both the colors as well as the textures of sea-glass, sand, and driftwood, this beach-wedding inspired shoot came together flawlessly to prove once and for all that beauty can be found in even the haziest of days. Tamara Gruner Photography captured this timeless example of boy meets girl where sand meets waves in a way that feels so raw and yet invigorating.
We were delighted to be a part of such an amazing shoot and loved getting to work with such amazing vendors (see complete list below). Enjoy some of the stunning photos right here… and to see more of this beautiful shoot, featured on style me pretty, click on the link below!

Today we are chatting about some of the most spectacular wedding venues/event spaces that Chicago has to offer. There are wide variety of venues to choose from in this wonderful city and we wanted to highlight some of our favorites.
1. Cafe Brauer
I may be a little biased, but since my husband and I got married here it will always hold a special place in my heart. With the gorgeous prairie style architecture and the spectacular views of Lincoln Park and the city skyline as seen from the loggias, what’s not to love? It’s a beautiful oasis for a Chicago wedding set in the middle of the park. Perfect for those couples wanting a downtown Chicago wedding with the feel of the outdoors & nature as well. 2. Garfield Park Conservatory
This space is a real gem hidden in the west side of Chicago. Nestled amongst some beautiful gardens, there are so many gorgeous spaces both inside and out of the Conservatory including horticulture hall, the fern room, and many more. This ceremony & reception (seen below) at the Conservatory was one of our favorite weddings that we produced this past year. Photos by Galaxie Andrews.

We had a blast meeting so many wonderful newly engaged couples at Indie Wed this year! For the second straight year, Life In Bloom was present at the January event and we put together another beautiful backdrop to compliment an equally stunning tablescape.
We built a custom trellis as a backdrop and covered it in Italian Ruscus greens, Jasmine Vine, and accents of neutral blooms to complete the natural, organic, mediterranean feel…
Many thanks to Amanda Megan Miller for all the wonderful photos below!!
Modern, Colorful, CB2: These were all adjectives that Christina and Jimmy used to describe the vision for their Summer wedding at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA). We loved their direction of CB2 as inspiration and really took it upon ourselves to create an atmosphere that encapsulated that fun and contemporary style while adding our own fresh approach.
For starters, the guests found their place-cards nestled amongst a spread of white pebbles and a collection of succulents to start the night off right with a clean modern feel (and who doesn’t love succulents?)
As the sun set, the bistro lights that hung over the tables on the terrace started to glow and filled the space with an enchanting mood that only summer nights in a big city can bring about. The table centerpieces consisted of geometric terrariums, oversized glass cloches, dusty blue cylindrical vases, and long rectangular glass vases, all filled with an equally vibrant array of flowers.
The collection of flowers consisted of Protea, Garden Roses, Spray Roses, Billy-Balls, Succulents, and Dahlias, with accents of pink stock, air-plants, and geranium to add texture.
As is the case with any great wedding, the success is always found in the details. From the beautifully designed wedding … Read More »
