They say it helps to put a face to the name, so today that’s exactly what we’re doing…
At Life In Bloom, when you meet with your designer, you are effectively meeting with the person who will be responsible for producing your event! While we also have an incredible support team of freelancers who help with prep and installations (another blog for another day), the majority of your event will be designed and produced by our small but incredibly talented team.
With that being said, we figured it would be fun to share a little more about our team today on the Blog! Thanks to Ashley of Artistrie Co. for the incredible photos you will see below!
The Owner of Life In Bloom, Rachel got her start at a very young age. Today we are chatting about some of the most spectacular wedding venues/event spaces that Chicago has to offer. There are wide variety of venues to choose from in this wonderful city and we wanted to highlight some of our favorites.
1. Cafe Brauer
I may be a little biased, but since my husband and I got married here it will always hold a special place in my heart. With the gorgeous prairie style architecture and the spectacular views of Lincoln Park and the city skyline as seen from the loggias, what’s not to love? It’s a beautiful oasis for a Chicago wedding set in the middle of the park. Perfect for those couples wanting a downtown Chicago wedding with the feel of the outdoors & nature as well. 2. Garfield Park Conservatory
This space is a real gem hidden in the west side of Chicago. Nestled amongst some beautiful gardens, there are so many gorgeous spaces both inside and out of the Conservatory including horticulture hall, the fern room, and many more. This ceremony & reception (seen below) at the Conservatory was one of our favorite weddings that we produced this past year. Photos by Galaxie Andrews.

So excited to share these photos from Timothy Whaley Photography from Mary Ellen & Chris’s October Wedding at Terzo Piano (Modern Wing of the Art Institute). The two tied the knot on the Bluhm Terrace, where the Chicago skyline acted as a backdrop to the ceremony, creating a dramatically breathtaking setting.
Mary Ellen & Chris came to us with a vision of a modern & jewel toned wedding. We incorporated a variety of rectangular vases to create a clean, modern look down the rectangular dining tables. The floral consisted of antique blue hydrangea, ti leaves, orchids, calla lilies and trachelium. Another highlight of their wedding was the place card table where we put together a variety of vases filled with water and floating candles to create the feel of an urban skyline at dusk and its twinkling lights.
For all of you couples looking for a gorgeous modern venue with an incredible skyline view, you definitely need to visit the Modern Wing! Its outdoor ceremony space overlooks the gorgeous Millenium Park with the skyline in the background. It’s one of our absolute favorite places in the city. Congratulations again Mary Ellen & Chris, it was an absolute joy working with you both!
