Missy & Sara were married this summer at the Columbus Park Refectory in Chicago. They had a beautiful outdoor wedding on the terrace officiated by Anita Vaughan and then celebrated with an intimate cocktail reception inside the beautiful Columbus Park Refectory with their closest family & friends.
They chose a brilliant jewel tone color palette of pink, purple, and plum with accents of hunter green. Missy’s bouquet was composed of the most lovely smelling fuchsia garden roses, plum calla lilies, show stopping pink Phalaenopsis orchids, and bright purple anemones to name a few. While Sara’s bouquet was more traditional and primarily white, consisting of hydrangea, roses, and white Phalaenopsis orchids, we incorporated their color palette in the ribbon wrap around her bouquet! The centerpieces were simple, colorful, and modern; composed of hydrangea accented with garden roses and orchids.
Their first look was one of the sweetest we’ve seen (see their excitement below). Congratulations Missy & Sara! Thanks for including us in your special day!

Mackalah & Brent were married in a beautiful barn in Knoxville, IL on June 7, 2014. I’ve been to a lot of weddings and I’ve seen a lot of stuff… but I’ve never seen so much rain. And yet it was absolutely perfect.
When the torrential downpours forced the ceremony indoors, the setting quickly changed from an open field surrounded by tall grasses to a rustic, dimly lit barn with old wooden floors and bales of hay scattered around the room for additional seating.
Their floral palate consisted of the most beautiful pastel & romantic blooms that early summer has to offer. We used lush & fluffy white & pink peonies, peach garden roses, lisianthus, as well as accents of white veronica & white tweedia. Accented with gorgeous silk ribbon from Frou Frou Chic, along with the lush fluffy blooms, Mackalah’s bouquet was by far one of my absolute favorites.
As I watched the two stand under the hanging lights of the barn and exchange vows, I couldn’t help but feel overwhelmingly blessed. I’ve known Mackalah growing up pretty much all my life, and it was such an honor to create a bouquet that she would walk down the aisle with to start her new … Read More »
Jenny & Craig were married this summer at Salvage One, and as eclectic of a venue as Salvage One is, the decor elements of their wedding flowed together seamlessly. Jenny and Craig are such a sweet couple and were such a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process.
Jenny requested blush and romantic flowers for her bouquets and that is what we delivered! The most gorgeous white and blush fluffy peonies mixed with light peach juliet garden roses, and a little bit of blush sweet pea to tie everything together. I absolutely loved her bouquet and it smelled like heaven!
For the reception, Jenny provided me with mason jars, some of which her students had helped her dip in glitter, how cute! The jars combined with the beautiful sequin chevron table runners and the blush floral created a beautiful and relaxed summer inspired atmosphere inside the space. Jenny & Craig you were both an absolute pleasure to work with and we wish you all the best!! Now enjoy the stunning images below captured by the amazing photography team of T & S Hughes!
I had the opportunity to design and produce a wedding for my Sister-In-Law, Jessica and now Brother-In-Law, Mike this past spring along with my other sister-in-law, Sheila of Ipomea Floral. Jess & Mike were married at the gorgeous Skyline Loft at the Bridgeport Art Center on a beautiful day in April. Inspired by the deep hues of a city skyline at dusk, Jess and Mike wanted to create an environment that captured the essence of a brilliant sunset and share it with all of their guests… and I must say their vision was perfectly executed! From the seating charts, to the floral palette, in the stained glass, and even in the song that Jessica walked down the aisle to (Phoenix’s ‘Love Like a Sunset’), the sunset looked stunning in this raw space. Now enjoy the beautiful pictures by Matushek Photography and take note of the lush floral arrangements which consisted of white anemone, garden roses, pink ranunculus, coral charm peonies, and pops of thistle to name a few. And how gorgeous are those deep cobalt blue vases!?

Lily & David were married at Redfield Grove this past Spring and celebrated with a beautiful reception at the Valley Lo Club in Glenview. I loved the organic & elegant wedding look they incorporated throughout the whole day. Kina Wicks captured all the special moments and little details of their wedding day perfectly! See more of her stunning photos below!
Lily’s bouquet was one of my absolute favorites! We incorporated the most beautiful blush peonies, pale peach garden roses, sweet-smelling lilac, blush ranunculus along with clematis and lots of greenery to create a loose organic look. Lily purchased some gorgeous ribbon from Frou Frou Chic which really added another element to this whimsical bouquet and completed the look fantastically. It was like something out of a dream.
Lily & David’s first look was so precious. David proposed to Lily in front of this yellow door and they also incorporated it into their first look and wedding ceremony; so cute!
For the centerpieces, we rented an eclectic mix of vintage brass vessels of varying sizes and shapes from Refind Joy. The floral palette consisted of blush, peach, & coral colors … Read More »
Silvia & Ron were married in Kenilworth at the Kenilworth Union Church and then celebrated their reception just down the road at the Kenilworth Club. It was a perfect spring day in May… one that Brides only dream of!
From the moment I met Silvia I knew this wedding was going to be fabulous. When your bride tells you her color palette is coming directly from a family Kimono, you just know it’s going to be unique and original. The color scheme was orange, yellow, green, and white, which complimented the Kenilworth Club perfectly. One of my personal favorite pieces of this wedding was Silvia’s bouquet. She liked lots of texture and little flowers so we included all the best spring blooms available at that time along with some airplants! Some of the other blooms that we incorporated were lilac, ranunculus (another favorite), astilbe, agapanthus, and anemone. Thanks Silvia & Ron for including us in your special day & thanks to Lilly Photography for the amazing photos below!

Katie & Brendan were married at the end of May at ‘Our Lady of Perpetual Help’ in Glenview, IL and they celebrated afterwards with a gorgeous, colorful wedding at the North Shore Country Club. Their color palette and flowers were bright, fun, and fresh. The contrast between the bold colors of the coral charm peonies and the soft neutrals of the succulents was simply captivating. I’ll let the photos do the talking. Thanks to Avant Garde Photography for these breathtaking photos!
Today on the blog is a rare flower favorite. Rare because it is only available for a smidgen of time in the Spring. And today’s feature flowers is…Bleeding hearts!! You will find them blooming in landscapes and wooded areas in the spring-time. As a child I absolutely LOVED this plant. It was one of my favorite flowers with it’s delicate heart shaped petals. Since it’s availability is very spotty, when I saw them at the flower market I knew I had to scoop some up and create an impromptu bouquet with them. I hope you enjoy it & Happy Friday!
A quick photo from this past weekend’s barn wedding. We loved creating this lush & textural bridal bouquet which was chock full of the most gorgeous spring flowers including peonies, ranunculus, garden roses, sweet-smelling jasmine vine, tweedia, and more…. Enjoy!
Kate & Joe’s wedding was one for the books with some of the most perfect florals, in my opinion. Their color palette was filled with gold, blush, and corals. Kate’s bouquet was by far my favorite thing about this wedding and one of my all-time favorite bouquets to date! We made a cascading bouquet full of the MOST gorgeous coral charm peonies, peach juliet roses, delicate sweet pea, ranunculus. I could go on and on. The flower gods truly sent us the most beautiful flowers for their wedding. The bouquet complimented Kate’s gold dress beautifully.
Kate & Joe held their colorful Spring wedding at the Mid America Club, which is on the 80th floor of the AON tower. Let me tell you, the view up there is incredible. The room boasts expansive views of both Millennium Park and the lake. For the centerpieces we used a variety of mercury glass candles to create different candlescapes on each table as they were holding a cocktail style reception. The abundance of candlelight complimented the twinkling skyline perfectly.
Kate & Joe we loved working with you on your beautiful & fun wedding!! Thanks for including us in your most special day.
