Are you planning a winter wedding but struggling to pin down that perfect style? Well don’t worry, we have you covered. Today we are sharing our vision of a perfectly dreamy winter wedding celebration where high-end style meets an uber-chic winter wonderland.
1. Bridesmaids in faux furs, we love the incorporation of browns & textures! Source 2. A simple cake with winter greens & berries is an easy call. Source 3. I think this photo says it all, but choosing a blue/silver toned wedding dress can be ideal against all the white. Source 4. Be sure to get detail shots of your invites, loving the different colored envelope. Source 5. Once again we incorporated some brown tones into the floral and a black vase, but it still is overall bright and classy. Source 6. Velvet linens, enough said. Source. 7. Tying in the velvet to another detail, it looks amazing on boutonnieres. Source 8. Taper Candles are … Read More »
It’s Wednesday, and you know what that means! Time for another Life in Bloom venue spotlight! Today, it’s all about the industrial masterpiece that is Morgan Manufacturing. This unique venue located in The Fulton Market Neighborhood held one of our largest weddings last year and is the perfect venue for a large capacity event without sacrificing style.
Venue: Morgan Manufacturing
Location: Fulton Market
Morgan Manufacturing is a unique space because of it’s exposed duct-work and industrial decor. The built-in bars and lighting are the perfect start to any event design. Their rooftop and bathrooms, yes bathrooms, are hidden gems in terms of style and will leave your guests in awe. You must go check it out for yourself!
Sky is the Limit! This is one of the biggest venues in Chicago and thus has the space to make anything possible. We love to see a lot of lighting, specifically pin spotting and cafe lights. On a table-top level, we love to use a lot of candle light once the dinner portion has started. Suspended floral pieces and tall arrangements make a big impact in the room, even if they are just greenery (pictured below). It’s … Read More »

The Ivy Room is an incredible spot to hold your Chicago wedding. The location is right in the heart of Chicago’s River North neighborhood with an unexpected hidden courtyard to use for your ceremony or cocktail hour. As much as we love a classic spring palette, there is something about fall colors that stand out amongst the rest. Christina and Mark’s Fall Wedding at 19 East was one of our absolute favorites. Not one detail was missed with Christina’s fall-chic style and the help of Wrap it Up Events.
The ceremony and reception both took place at 19 East, which has a striking simplicity to the overall space, with an industrial undertone.
For the ceremony, a birch arch was covered in a lush floral garland and the aisle was flanked with two large and extremely textural arrangements. Other amazing details could be found in the boxwood wall for the escort cards, some uber-chic velvet furniture for the lounge groupings, and subtle touches of artichoke here and there.
The bridesmaid’s bouquets were filled with cafe au lait dahlias, garden roses, ranunculus, scabiosa, and multiple types of greenery. Christina stayed with a classic all-white bouquet, which made perfect sense once we saw her stunning beaded gown that really stole the show.
When we originally began planning with Mark and Christina, we created a rendering for their wedding to give them a visual of what we had in mind for the room. Below we have photos of the day … Read More »
Happy New Year! With engagement Season in full swing and so many couples beginning their wedding planning process, we will be highlighting some of our favorite venues on the blog in the next few weeks. Make sure to tune in every Wednesday as we highlight Chicago’s hottest wedding venues.
Venue: Galleria Marchetti – The Pavilion
Capacity: 450 people seated with stage & dance floor
Location: River West // Erie & Halstead
The Pavilion at Galleria Marchetti has been one of our favorite venues to work at this past year. It’s location and beauty makes it the perfect spot for a romantic Chicago wedding. The East Courtyard is a stunning outdoor ceremony spot; it is a secret garden in the middle of the city. Guests enter through iron gates to the ceremony or straight into your cocktail hour. The tented pavilion is heated or air-conditioned depending on the time of year and is light, bright, and dreamy.
The ceremony site is absolutely beautiful, but hanging chandeliers in the pergola can really take it to the next level. We also highly recommend draping (as seen below), if chandeliers are not your thing. In the … Read More »
WOW! What an incredible year. As I look back at everything that happened in 2016, I feel an overwhelming amount of gratitude to so many people. So let me first start by thanking all the people who allow me to live my dream every day with Life in Bloom.
It’s no secret, we have the best clients. This year was full of the sweetest, most caring and considerate client’s we’ve had the pleasure of working with. Not only that but they all had impeccable style as well. Thanks for trusting & collaborating with us to bring your incredible visions to life. Life in Bloom would be nothing without you and for that we are incredibly grateful.
We also have the best crew. With a talented group of core designers surrounded by some incredible floral designers and a hardcore install team, I’m a firm believer that we’ve become the company to beat. Are we the biggest? No. But our teamwork, communication, and hard-work is the best in the biz, and I know that to be a fact. Our crew worked tirelessly this year and gave it 110% with no detail left unnoticed. And they did it all with a big smile. There have … Read More »
Entertaining during the holidays can be a huge stressor for most of us. It’s hard enough to have a tidy house and delicious meal on the table… you can forget about the cute Pinterest projects you were excited about months ago. Thankfully for you, we have nailed down the KEY to being a great host. Are you ready? No seriously, are you ready for it? Do you have a notebook out? Just kidding, you won’t need it… because… the KEY to being a great host is simply…planning ahead!
Of course, there are some things that need to be done the day-of, but creating a master list of those tasks will make you feel much more at ease. We are sharing with you 5 simple steps to being the best holiday host this year:
1. Make a Holiday Drink
A week or two before your holiday party, print out a recipe and have it with your grocery list. Find something simple that you can toss into a pitcher (like, holiday sangria) or crockpot (like, adult cider). Then label it and set out glasses. A simple folded piece of paper labeled will let guests know it is out for them!
2. Set the Table
Yes, this sounds obvious, but you can … Read More »
This modern rivers wedding proves that different can be beautiful. When Susan began her process with us, she had a unique vision for her wedding. She wanted a modern and natural wedding with many architectural elements like hanging terrariums, succulents, and manzanita branches.
The bouquets were a gorgeous combination of peonies, roses, freesia, anemones, and brunnia berries. Susan and her bridesmaids looked stunning in all white with hints of grey, navy and greenery from the bouquets.
Hanging from the ceremony arch were floral-filled terrariums, such a unique and stunning addition to the ceremony. Trickling into the cocktail hour were details of succulents that ultimately led to the modern arrangements on the reception tables. With planning by Amelia Cole Events and photography by Greyes Photography the wedding had a wonderful vendor team and a seamless day throughout.
We wish Susan and Matt the very best for their new chapter together, here are some of our favorite photos from the big day:

Romance and elegance begin with candles. Think about the way having just a few candles lit in your home creates a warm glow and romantic environment. Come time to create that same feeling on your wedding day, how are you going to transform your entire wedding into a warm, inviting, and romantic atmosphere? Candles. (And floral, of course). But today, we are strictly talking candles and why you need them, LOTS of them.
There are so many approaches and ways to use candles but first, lets talk styles. We are talking about pillar candles, floating candles, taper candles, and votives. Each of these styles have the ability to create a big impact, while remaining budget friendly. The following images are all great examples of how to best use candle light as a part of your centerpiece.
1. Pillar Candles
Pillar candles are among the most popular of candles. They are often used in glass cylinders (like shown below). They can be placed directly in the center of a table or interspersed on both sides of a table garland. You can also place them in lanterns or on top of candle holders to help elevate the glow.
