19 East Fall Wedding

Posted on January 11th, by Life in Bloom in blog. No Comments

As much as we love a classic spring palette, there is something about fall colors that stand out amongst the rest. Christina and Mark’s Fall Wedding at 19 East was one of our absolute favorites. Not one detail was missed with Christina’s fall-chic style and the help of Wrap it Up Events.

The ceremony and reception both took place at 19 East, which has a striking simplicity to the overall space, with an industrial undertone.

For the ceremony, a birch arch was covered in a lush floral garland and the aisle was flanked with two large and extremely textural arrangements. Other amazing details could be found in the boxwood wall for the escort cards, some uber-chic velvet furniture for the lounge groupings, and subtle touches of artichoke here and there.

The bridesmaid’s bouquets were filled with cafe au lait dahlias, garden roses, ranunculus, scabiosa, and multiple types of greenery. Christina stayed with a classic all-white bouquet, which made perfect sense once we saw her stunning beaded gown that really stole the show.

When we originally began planning with Mark and Christina, we created a rendering for their wedding to give them a visual of what we had in mind for the room. Below we have photos of the day as well as that rendering side-by-side for comparison.  It’s always extremely fun to see the vision become reality on site… Thanks to Sean Cook, the incredible photographer who captured this shot and so many other great details of Christina and Mark’s special day.

We wish only the best for Christina and Mark in their new lives together.

Venue Spotlight: Chicago History Museum

Posted on January 10th, by Life in Bloom in blog. No Comments

Next up on our venue spotlight is a legendary venue here in Chicago. If you missed last weeks spotlight on Galleria Marchetti, check it out here. Engagement Season is in full swing and so many couples are beginning their wedding planning process. That’s why we will be highlighting some of our favorite venues on the blog in the next few weeks.  Make sure to tune in every Wednesday as we highlight Chicago’s hottest wedding venues.

Venue: Chicago History Museum

Capacity: 300 people with seated dinner & DJ

Location: Lincoln Park

About:

The Chicago History Museum is the essence of class and elegance. On top of its’ historic charm and beauty, the location could not be more ideal for a Chicago wedding. The ceremony is placed between a lush garden and cathedral steps which lead right into the museum, the perfect entrance and exit for a wedding party. The main ballroom is classic and neutral with the most beautiful molding you’ve ever seen. The chandeliers and checkered dance floor are a must see as well!

Design Tips:

As stunning as the space is itself, given the tall ceilings, we always recommend some tall arrangements to really bring texture and a ‘WOW’ factor when your guests walk into the space. For your tables, a mixture of rounds and rectangles is our favorite style. Last, but not least, textured/colored votives are a must because of the “no flame” policy. No worries though, we have plenty of choices 🙂

Architectural Artifacts Wedding

Posted on January 9th, by Life in Bloom in blog. No Comments

A wrought iron gate covered in greenery was the perfect backdrop to Kara and Matthew’s outdoor August wedding. Kara’s vision came to life at Architectural Artifacts in front of a stunning, oversized stone wall. A combination of classic flowers with organic textures created a romantic atmosphere at the rustic-chic venue.

Kara’s bouquet was filled with blush garden roses, succulents, white roses, peach lisianthus, white ranunculus, astrantia, seeded eucalyptus, olive, dusty miller, and spray roses. Matthew wore a boutonniere of white ranunculus and olive.

Wasabi Photography took such beautiful photos of the day, here is a snapshot below:
