Why do we love Wednesdays at Life in Bloom? We get to take a virtual walk through some of our favorite Chicago wedding venues in an effort to help engaged couples chose the best space for their wedding! Each week we spotlight one of our favorite venues about share a little bit about what makes the venue so great. Today we cast the spotlight on 19 East. This chic venue, located in The South Loop, is perfect for the fashion-forward couple that wants a beautiful wedding venue with a little architectural flair. Check it out below:
Venue: 19 East
Capacity: Ceremony & Seated Dinner – 150 people
Seated Dinner Reception – 250 people
Location: South Loop
Managed by the established catering company, Food for Thought, 19 East is a stylish and well-run venue perfect for your wedding ceremony and reception. The space has so many unique features include the marble tiled bar, the black-and-white tiled floors in front of the bar, the beautiful herringbone parquet floors throughout, and the super high ceilings and large windows all which attribute to the beautiful aesthetic of 19 East. We highly recommend checking it out!
The space has a fairly neutral palette (which we love), so adding color and contrast brings the room to life. A bold fall palette or bright spring palette will both really pop and look great in the space. Use a combination of rectangle and round dining tables for a fresh look in the dining room. Draping the tall windows and in between entry ways adds the perfectly romantic touch. Finally, be sure to utilize the shelves above the built-in bar. We recommend doing votives all the way across (pictured below) or perhaps some custom artwork to really customize the overall design of your event.

Our venue spotlight continues today with the Armour House at Lake Forest Academy. Every week we are highlighting some of the best wedding venues in Chicago and sharing why they are a Life in Bloom favorite! Why is this one, you may ask? Their lush gardens and marble details are just the start, learn more below!
Venue: Armour House
Location: Lake Forest
Nestled in one of the most beautiful Chicago suburbs sits the Armour House at Lake Forest Academy. The grounds at the Armour House are absolutely breath-taking, whether you are having an indoor or outdoor ceremony, both options are dreamy. The grounds are full of lush gardens, making it the perfect place for all of your photos. Where’s the catch? What does the reception area look like? Nope, no catch. The reception area is stunning full of brilliant architecture, marble detailing, and neutral colors.
The venue has so many stunning features, and the key is highlighting these features. Adding heavy greenery and candle treatments to the staircase, fireplace, and fountain is a must! They are such strong focal points in the room, your guests will be convinced you put thought into every detail. The guest tables look great with assorted low arrangements, but if you are keeping your guest list intimate, opt for long rectangular tables with some lush floral garlands!

Well don’t worry, we have you covered. Today we are sharing our vision of a perfectly dreamy winter wedding celebration where high-end style meets an uber-chic winter wonderland.

Once again we incorporated some brown tones into the floral and a black vase, but it still is overall bright and classy. Source 6. Velvet linens, enough said. Source. 7.
