Leon Young and Sae Jun had the most beautiful spring wedding at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum filled with ranunculus, peonies, garden roses and a plethora of tiny textural blooms that made guests feel as though they were transported to an english cottage garden!
The two were married in the Museum’s stone terrace where we created a birchwood arch which we accented with a delicate trailing garland of Italian Ruscus, Garden Pots on each side, as well as a romantic sheer white drape. After the ceremony, guests were able to access the butterfly exhibit for cocktail hour where butterflies fly around and occasionally land on you (if you’re lucky)!
Romantic stemmed candles adorned the lush stemmed compote arrangements at each table of the reception. Some special touches to their wedding included an all-lily of the valley bouquet for the bride and the most beautiful escort card arrangement made up of spirea, bells of Ireland, and viburnum.
We wish all the best to this sweet couple! Their gorgeous photos were shot by the ever talented, Matushek Photography.
The outdoor ceremony was set on the back terrace of the Chicago History Museum which has a lush background of green trees and grasses. The romantic, all white fabric chuppah with floral tie backs made a dramatic statement for the spot they will always remember saying “I do”. Ann & Kam Photo captured this moment and the entire day beautifully as always.
Kyle’s bouquet was filled with garden roses, ranunculus, scabiosa, lisianthus, seeded eucalyptus, and other textures all in a white and blush palette with green accents. The ceremony had a combination of tall and low floral arrangements with a heavy focus on foliage with the perfect touch of blush and ivory flower. The perfect balance of loose meets tailored, the large arrangements stood tall and captivating throughout the main ballroom!
All-in-all it was definitely a wedding we will always remember at Life in Bloom and we wish Kyle and David the best for their future together!

It’s Wednesday and although we are coming to the end of our venue spotlights, we still have some incredible venues to show you before jumping back into our wedding season! Today’s venue is a stunning, industrial venue in Ravenswood, known as Artifact Events.
Venue: Artifact Events
Capacity: 200-320 Guests for Seated Reception
Located just miles from downtown Chicago, Artifact Events is an ideal space for a city couple. Guests are able to choose if they would like to avoid the hustle of downtown, or embrace the city and stay in one of the hotels if they choose. Now, let’s talk about the space! The venue has so much charm, a gorgeous courtyard, and still keeps a unique vibe. The exposed ceilings and wrought iron details give it an edgy feel and with the access to the outdoor courtyard for a romantic ceremony or cocktail hour, there’s not much more you could ask for!
We love to see a lot of greenery in this space to maintain the rustic and raw vibe. Go a little wild on the gate outside if you are having your ceremony there, it really livens up the courtyard which can otherwise appear a little barren. A linen with a pattern or pop of color can look amazing out there as well for cocktails. The inside space has a lot of darker aspects like wood and iron, so we certainly recommend adding some lighter elements to really stand out! If you want to keep it classic, using some larger pieces like a boxwood wall can do the trick!
