Nancy and Patrick’s classic Palmer House wedding was one to remember. On top of being so easy to work with, they trusted us to make their vision come to life. This sweet couple wanted a romantic and classic palette for their special day, so that is exactly what we did. Mixed with a rich, chocolate brown linen, the florals were filled with hydrangea, peonies, roses, and other textures. Ann and Kam Photography captured the entire day beautifully below.

Allison and Chris were married at River’s Patio and danced the night away in an outdoor, colorful, and fun summer wedding at Rivers in downtown Chicago. Their wedding didn’t lack anything in the way of color; Orange-Peach-Coral-Pink, it was beautiful and complimented the height of summer perfectly!
We had such a blast working with Allison and her Mom putting all of the decor elements together. For the ceremony Allison and her Mom purchased hanging aqua votives which we filled with pops of color accented with crisp gardenia greenery. Bright coral dahlias, coral spray roses, and garden roses were used to create a vibrant and effective backdrop for their wedding ceremony.
The tablescapes continued with the fun and colorful theme. Brightly colored blooms including coral dahlias, orange and yellow protea, coral and orange dahlias, delicate chamomile daisies and funky yellow billy balls adorned clean modern vases running the length of the rectangular table. Aqua and white frosted votives accented the centerpieces and miniature potted succulents sat at each guest’s place setting. No detail was left unnoticed! Allison and Chris-thanks for choosing us to bring your fun & colorful vision to life. We wish you both the best!

We were so graciously invited to do floral and design at Thursday Therapy this month held at the Ivy Room. For those of you who don’t know, this is an event for wedding pros to meet, mingle and share their business ideas and strategies. The hosts Joan Cinquegrani and Bethany Fritz of Five Grain Events and Maypole Studios put on a great event once a month and we were so excited to add our custom designs to the tables of the Ivy Room.
We went a little out of the box with a purple and peach palette that matched the slate grey linens flawlessly. Purple succulents, lilac, and ranunculus set in silver, antique pedestal vases came to life in the space. We cannot wait to work at the Ivy Room again!
As always we loved chatting with our friend Elysia from Elysia Root Cakes and Natalie from the Ivy Room over a pomegranate spritzer. See some gorgeous shots of the night by Jason Brown with J. Brown Photo.
This past month we hosted our second floral designing workshop at our studio where attendees got to design their own floral compotes with their moms, daughters, sisters, etc. We had a great group and we were so impressed with everyones’ final products. In addition to teaching proper design technique and form, we taught a little bit about how to prep your flowers, your vase, and even a bit about how to properly care for your arrangement to get the most life out of it. At the end, everyone got to take their arrangements home with them to enjoy! Below are some photos of our wonderful students in action! Thanks to everyone for coming out, we hope you had as much fun as we did.
The Whole Group! Everyone did amazing!!!!
And finally, the teachers with our Moms <3!
What could be a better start to a bachelorette party than champagne, cupcakes, music and all of your best friends creating flower crowns together? That was the start to Alyssa’s bachelorette party, a Life in Bloom Flower Crown Workshop! We had an absolute blast instructing Alyssa and her girls on how to create the perfect flower crown that they could wear around town afterwards for dinner and karaoke.
The day started with a greeting of champagne and cupcakes from Sweet Mandy B’s and ended with group pictures before heading off to their night on the town.
With buckets of florals and greenery to choose from, each crown was so unique and different! Some chose soft wildflowers, while others opted for much bolder blooms; we really saw their personalities shine through crown by crown. Once everyone was finished we just had to snap a picture of each girl and we’re sure glad we did. Check out all of the amazing crowns made at Alyssa’s Bachelorette below:
The Whole Crew, looking fabulous with their crowns!

Every summer, Chicago plays host to some of the hottest musicians in the world in Grant Park for Lollapalooza. This past year, we hit the musical jackpot when we were asked to provide floral and decor for the Samsung Galaxy Backstage Artists Lounge.
Not only was it cool to get to go behind the scenes and work so closely to celebrities like Sam Smith, but the final product was swoon-worthy as well.
We attained a super modern and stylish look by combining concrete planters and terrariums with a wide variety of different succulents, ferns, sedum, and more.
We hope to be back this coming year, decking out the space for artists such as Lana Del Rey, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Third Eye Blind, Ellie Goulding and more…
See photos below for a behind the scenes look!
Back in November we produced an intimate, moody, candlelit wedding at the Chicago Athletic Association’s White City Ballroom for two very special Brides. The first snowfall of the year delicately covered the ground outside and made for a wintery whimsical view from the White City Ballroom while setting up. From the ceremony to the dinner reception, the mood was extremely romantic and elegant. An aisle flanked by two wood pedestals topped with robust beautiful pedestal arrangements, surrounded by a mass of pillar candles welcomed guests into the space. At the end of the aisle awaited a 3/4 ring of garland with hundreds of candles. scattered throughout. Absolutely Stunning!
After the ceremony, guests moved into the next room for cocktail hour as we quickly transformed the room into an equally stunning environment. Keeping with the dark and moody feel, the tables were adorned with brass compote centerpieces full of loose organic blooms such as wine anemone, burgundy scabiosa, navy privet berries, lavender, chocolate queen anne’s lace, & amnesia roses. Lots of greenery accented the floral including seeded eucalyptus, purple smokebush, agonis, olive and delicately trailing jasmine vine. Petite cloches enclosing roses, adorned with gold vinyl numbers helped guests find their seats. Clear crystal patterned and rose gold … Read More »
This wedding (and I mean this when I say it) was the definition of class. With a great vendor team led by Kara Superfine, beautiful photographs by Averyhouse, and a gorgeous venue that is the Hinsdale Golf Club, how could you possibly go wrong? You never know what October is going to bring you. Some days are cool and rainy and other days, like this one, are full of sunshine and a crisp breeze. Kristin & Phil really lucked out with the perfect autumn day and we felt honored to play a roll in making their day so stunning.
From the loose and organic bouquets to the oversized ceremony arrangements, every piece flowed together seamlessly. A lot of that credit goes to Kara Superfine whose attention to detail is off the charts perfect.
In addition to the ceremony urn arrangements, we created wreaths that welcomed the guests into the church as well as a number of gorgeous pew accents.
Usually from a decor perspective, cocktail hour takes a back seat to the rest of the day’s events, but not with this wedding. Two stunning arrangements welcomed guests into a tent on the great lawn just outside of the Golf Club. Inside of the tent, lanterns with accents … Read More »
One of the most fun weddings that we produced this past year took place at Promontory Point on the night of Halloween. La Belle Fleur Events was the planner and, as always, their team knocked it out of the park!
The couple wanted a fun ambience with a nod to Halloween without feeling too literal (black and orange). To accomplish this, we opted to use white pumpkins as floral vases with a floral palette consisting of peach stock, Juliet garden roses, ivory & Cream roses and scabiosa pods. The overall floor plan was one long U-shaped layout with end-to-end farm tables wrapping around the dance floor. We adorned these tables with a handful of lanterns, votives, and the above-mentioned pumpkin floral arrangements.
Other fun elements included Custom Carved Pumpkins, which greeted guests as they entered and exited the venue. We also produced a large pumpkin with the couple’s’ initials carved into it which rested on the Place Card Table.
It was really fun to see this wedding come together on the big day. Here is a rendering that we put together to convey the overall mood and layout to the couple and help them envision the overall look beforehand.
I have no doubt that … Read More »
