Down a winding road in the lovely suburb of Lake Forest sits a historic venue called the Armour House. On March 4th, Andrea and Dan celebrated their marriage surrounded by family, friends, and the most delicate decor (if we do say so ourselves). Andrea’s vision for her wedding was perfectly in line with the style of the Armour House: romantic, delicate, and elegant.
The bouquet’s were full of unique textures and had just the right balance of greenery and floral. Andrea’s bridal bouquet stayed blush and white, while the girls added in some spring color. Garden roses, ranunculus, and lilac were the key florals.
Greenery is really what made the Armour House come to life. The grand staircase was draped with smilax, as well as the fountain, and escort card table. Pillar candles brought the romance into the reception with brass bud vases, lanterns, and beaded votives. A sprig of olive was placed on each guest’s place setting to tie everything together.
Thankfully, the incredible Caili Helsper was there to capture Andrea and Dan’s special moments and details, so we can remember this beautiful day for years to come!

The goal in finding your perfect wedding venue, is finding one that already fits your style. By doing this, you are avoiding completely transforming a space unnecessarily, which in turn allows you to allocate more money to other areas. Do you love the outdoors and nature? Do you envision being surrounded by lush plants and greenery? If you answered “yes” to either of those questions, you need to check out Garfield Park Conservatory.
Venue: Garfield Park Conservatory
Capacity: 300 Guests for Seated Reception
Location: Garfield Park
The Conservatory is located just 10 minutes West of the United Center. The building is basically a greenhouse with a glass ceiling and 2 acres of lush plants. The Show House makes the perfect reception space for your guests, with the potential of having an outdoor cocktail hour in the Monet Garden. It is also a great place to walk around any day, so go check it out!
We love to see rustic, garden, and bohemian weddings at the Garfield Park Conservatory. Using lush garlands and pops of floral really highlights the space instead of transforming it. Organic florals with lots of texture play into the aesthetic of the conservatory perfectly. Adding color also works really well … Read More »

Leon Young and Sae Jun had the most beautiful spring wedding at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum filled with ranunculus, peonies, garden roses and a plethora of tiny textural blooms that made guests feel as though they were transported to an english cottage garden!
The two were married in the Museum’s stone terrace where we created a birchwood arch which we accented with a delicate trailing garland of Italian Ruscus, Garden Pots on each side, as well as a romantic sheer white drape. After the ceremony, guests were able to access the butterfly exhibit for cocktail hour where butterflies fly around and occasionally land on you (if you’re lucky)!
Romantic stemmed candles adorned the lush stemmed compote arrangements at each table of the reception. Some special touches to their wedding included an all-lily of the valley bouquet for the bride and the most beautiful escort card arrangement made up of spirea, bells of Ireland, and viburnum.
We wish all the best to this sweet couple! Their gorgeous photos were shot by the ever talented, Matushek Photography.

Classic beauty is the best way we can describe this Chicago History Museum wedding. Our sweet couple, Kyle and David, with the help of Shannon Gail planned the perfect Chicago fall wedding.
The outdoor ceremony was set on the back terrace of the Chicago History Museum which has a lush background of green trees and grasses. The romantic, all white fabric chuppah with floral tie backs made a dramatic statement for the spot they will always remember saying “I do”. Ann & Kam Photo captured this moment and the entire day beautifully as always.
Kyle’s bouquet was filled with garden roses, ranunculus, scabiosa, lisianthus, seeded eucalyptus, and other textures all in a white and blush palette with green accents. The ceremony had a combination of tall and low floral arrangements with a heavy focus on foliage with the perfect touch of blush and ivory flower. The perfect balance of loose meets tailored, the large arrangements stood tall and captivating throughout the main ballroom!
All-in-all it was definitely a wedding we will always remember at Life in Bloom and we wish Kyle and David the best for their future together!
